WORCESTER — On Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at approximately 11:56 a.m., officers with the Worcester Police Vice Squad were conducting surveillance in the area of Oread Place when they observed a man, later identified as 44-year-old Porfirio Burgos of Chandler Street, holding a clear sandwich bag in his lap while several other people look on.
According to a statement from the Worcester Police Department, police saw Burgos hand a small item to another man, who was stopped by police shortly thereafter.
“Officers determined that the item given appeared to be crack cocaine,” the Worcester Police Department said in its statement. “Officers stopped Mr. Burgos and recovered what appeared to be a larger bag of crack cocaine.”
Porfirio Burgos was arrested and charged with the following:
- Distribution of a Class B Substance
- Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute
