WEYMOUTH — On Thursday, August 7, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Weymouth police officers were dispatched to the McDonald’s restaurant located at 701 Bridge Street following a report of a stolen motor vehicle.
According to a statement from the Weymouth Police Department, the reporting party stated that her vehicle, a 2011 Nissan Frontier, was stolen while she was inside McDonald’s picking up food. She said she left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside. The woman’s two small French bulldogs were also inside her vehicle when it was stolen.
The following day, Friday, August 8, 2025, detectives identified a suspect – later identified as Marcus Morse – who was selling the stolen vehicle online.

“The posted picture included an image of the vehicle’s license plate,” the Weymouth Police Department said in its statement. “Further investigation revealed the Frontier was located at 124 Manley Street in Brockton.”
According to police, Marcus Morse, 29, resides at 124 Manley Street in Brockton.
“Brockton officers detained Morse on scene,” the Weymouth Police Department said in its statement. “They located the two French bulldogs still inside the hot vehicle. The dogs were checked by Brockton Animal Control and released to the Weymouth police.”
Weymouth police detectives arrested Morse and brought him to the police department for booking.
Marcus Morse was booked on the following charges:
- Larceny of a motor vehicle
- Receiving a stolen motor vehicle
- Larceny of property over $1200, two counts (French bulldogs)
- Animal cruelty, two counts (French bulldogs left inside hot vehicle)
- Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle
- Default warrant from Winchendon District Court for:
- Use of a Motor Vehicle without Authority
- Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle
- Straight warrant from Falmouth District Court for:
- Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order
Morse was held at the Weymouth Police Department until his arraignment, which was scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11, 2025.
