Two serious crashes in Taunton leave teenage bicyclist and motorcyclist hospitalized

TAUNTON — On Friday, August 22, 2025, at approximately 5:35 p.m., Taunton police were dispatched to 129 Tremont Street following reports that a bicyclist had been struck by a motor vehicle. 

According to a statement from Chief Edward Walsh, when officers arrived on scene, they located the bicyclist, a 14-year-old girl, who was transported to a local trauma center with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident, a Dodge Durango, remained on scene and cooperated with police.

About 13 minutes later, at 5:48 p.m., Taunton police responded to the area of Cape Highway and Richmond Street for a reported crash involving two cars and a motorcycle.

When police arrived on scene, they found three damaged vehicles: a Victory V92 motorcycle, a Hyundai, and a GMC pickup truck.

The driver of the Victory motorcycle, a 35-year-old man from Middleborough, was airlifted to a local trauma center with serious injuries, Chief Walsh said.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 60-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with injuries believed to be minor.

Taunton police, with assistance from the department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit, are investigating the cause of both crashes.
