RAYNHAM — On Sunday, August 24, 2025, at approximately 8:12 p.m., Raynham police and fire received a 911 call reporting a driver driving erratically in the area of South Street West. Shortly thereafter, the departments received reports that a motor vehicle had struck a tree on South Street West.
According to a joint statement issued by Police Chief David LaPlante and Fire Chief Bryan LaCivita on August 24, 2025, the driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old male, was pronounced dead on scene. A 33-year-old woman, the only passenger in the vehicle, was taken to a local hospital with injuries believed to be life-threatening.
Raynham police, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, are investigating the cause of the crash.
