SHREWSBURY — The Shrewsbury Police Department announced that an arrest was made following an investigation into an individual accused of sexually assaulting multiple children.
According to a statement from the department, Eric Sladen, 46, of Shrewsbury, was arrested today on the following charges:
- Indecent Assault & Battery on a Child Under 14 (10 counts)
- Assault & Battery (Two counts)
- Intimidation of a Witness
- Violation of a 258E Order (Two counts)
A 258E Order is a civil court order designed to protect someone from harassment, even if the parties involved do not have a familial, romantic, or household relationship (unlike a 209A abuse prevention order, which is for domestic situations).
Sladen was arraigned today in Westborough District Court.
“Due to the sensitive nature of this case and in order to protect the privacy and well-being of the victims, no further details will be released at this time,” the Shrewsbury Police Department said in its statement.
