CENTERVILLE — A driver had to be extricated from a vehicle Monday morning following a two-car crash involving a commercial moving truck in Centerville.
According to a statement from the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills (COMM) Fire Department, at approximately 8:49 a.m. on September 29, 2025, emergency crews responded to the intersection of Great Hill Drive and Oak Street following a report of motor vehicle crash with entrapment.
Firefighters arrived to find a passenger car with a single occupant that had collided with a commercial moving truck carrying three people. The car’s driver was trapped inside, prompting rescue crews to use hydraulic cutting tools to perform an extrication.
A MedFlight helicopter was initially requested, but the patient was ultimately transported by ground ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital under trauma alert status. Two of the truck’s occupants sustained minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital, while the third refused treatment at the scene.
The Barnstable and Hyannis Fire Departments provided mutual aid ambulances, and the Barnstable Police Department assisted at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
