Four arrested after stolen vehicle crashes in Weymouth, illegal firearms recovered

WEYMOUTH — On Sunday, September 28, 2025, at approximately 3:31 p.m., the Weymouth Police Department was notified of a stolen black Toyota Highlander, originally reported missing out of Braintree.

According to a statement from the Weymouth Police Department, the vehicle was “detected” near Commercial Street and the F.L. Wright Connector, prompting a coordinated response from multiple Weymouth units.

“A short time later, the vehicle was spotted traveling on Pleasant Street, occupied by four masked individuals,” the Weymouth Police Department said. “At 3:34 p.m., Weymouth Control received several 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle crash near 445 Essex Street. Officers arrived on scene and located the stolen vehicle, which had been abandoned. A search of the vehicle revealed a black, modified handgun with no visible serial number.”

Witnesses in the area reported seeing four individuals flee on foot, prompting authorities to establish a perimeter with support from the Massachusetts State Police and Hingham Police Department.

As the search continued, residents reported seeing the suspects enter an Uber. Officers conducted a felony stop on the vehicle and found four male individuals inside.

One suspect was found carrying a key fob for the stolen vehicle, a black mask, and a debit card registered to the vehicle’s owner. A second firearm was later recovered in the area during the investigation.

In addition to the stolen vehicle, police recovered two firearms.

The following four individuals were taken into custody:

Joseph Hier, 18, of Essex Street in Weymouth, was charged with:

  1. Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle
  2. Carrying a Firearm without a License (2 Counts)
  3. Possession of a Firearm in a Felony (2 Counts)
  4. Possession of Ammunition without FID (2 Counts)
  5. Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device (2 Counts)
  6. Receiving Stolen Property (2 Counts)
  7. Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License
  8. Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  9. Marked Lanes Violation

Jeremiah Charles, 19, of Helen Street, Boston, was charged with:

  1. Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle
  2. Carrying a Firearm without a License (2 Counts)
  3. Possession of a Firearm in a Felony (2 Counts)
  4. Possession of Ammunition without FID (2 Counts)
  5. Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device (2 Counts)

Mardoche Blanc, 18, of Crown Point Drive, Boston, was charged with:

  1. Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle
  2. Carrying a Firearm without a License (2 Counts)
  3. Possession of a Firearm in a Felony (2 Counts)
  4. Possession of Ammunition without FID (2 Counts)
  5. Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device (2 Counts)

A 15-year-old juvenile was charged with:

  1. Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle
  2. Carrying a Firearm without a License (2 Counts)
  3. Possession of a Firearm during a Felony (2 counts)
  4. Possession of Ammunition without FID (2 Counts)
  5. Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device (2 Counts)
  6. Providing False Identification to Law Enforcement
  7. Five Outstanding Arrest Warrants

All four men were scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Sept. 29, 2025.

“The Weymouth Police Department extends its appreciation to the Massachusetts State Police, Hingham Police Department, and members of the community whose timely information played a key role in the safe apprehension of the suspects and the recovery of two illegal firearms,” the Weymouth Police Department said in its statement.
