WORCESTER — A death investigation is underway after a man fell to his death from the third level to the atrium floor inside the Worcester District and Superior Courts at 225 Main Street Monday morning.
According to the Worcester District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police detectives responded around 11:30 a.m. to a report of an “unattended death.” Witnesses in a second‑floor courtroom said they heard shouting and running in adjacent corridors, and the noise disrupted courtroom proceedings.
Court staff evacuated all personnel and visitors, and the courthouse was closed for the remainder of the day.
Authorities have not yet identified the individual or released a cause of death; the investigation is ongoing.
The courthouse was expected to reopen today.
