Webster woman charged after speeding through breakdown lane, striking child pedestrian and crashing into parked car

WEBSTER — On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at approximately 4:16 p.m., Webster police, firefighters, and paramedics were dispatched to 44 East Main Street following numerous reports that a juvenile pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle.

According to a statement from the Webster Police Department, when officers arrived on scene, they observed a juvenile laying in the middle of the road with bystanders standing around him.

Officers also found a vehicle that had collided with a parked car on the right side of the road. The juvenile in the roadway and several occupants of the crashed vehicle were injured.

The first responders began rendering aid to the injured parties. Police say the juvenile pedestrian sustained the most serious injuries.

“The child was conscious, but was suffering from a head injury as well as injuries to his extremities,” the Webster Police Department said in its statement. “Officer Nicholas Trinque was able to identify the driver of the vehicle as Ms. Searena Angomas, 27, of Prospect Street in Webster. “

While investigating the incident, officers found four large bags of marijuana—totaling nearly 3.1 ounces—and an empty “nip” bottle inside Angomas’ vehicle.

“Ms. Angomas had two juveniles in her car during the time of the crash, one of which was an 11-day-old infant. The infant’s car seat was not secured properly in the car, with the car-seat facing forward,” the Webster Police Department said in its statement. “Through witness statements and security camera footage that was obtained, officers learned that Ms. Angomas had been driving west on East Main Street at a high rate of speed, which was estimated to be 49 mph (in a posted 30 mph zone).”

A vehicle in front of Angomas was slowing down to make a turn into McDonald’s, while an adult accompanied by two juveniles was crossing the street at the same time.

“Ms. Angomas illegally went around the vehicle turning into McDonalds, in the right breakdown lane,” the Webster Police Department said. “As Ms. Angomas re-entered the travel lane, she struck one of the juvenile pedestrians before swerving and crashing into a parked car.”

The juvenile pedestrian, along with the two juveniles in Angomas’ vehicle, were all transported to various local hospitals, police said.

Searena Angomas was charged with the following:

  1. Negligent/Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  2. Two Counts of Reckless Endangerment of a Child
  3. Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana

“An immediate threat to suspend Ms. Angomas’ license was filed with the Registry of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Children and Families were notified,” the Webster Police Department added.

Angomas is expected to be arraigned in Dudley District Court at a later date.
