DUNSTABLE — On Tuesday, Oct. 14, at approximately 7:40 p.m., the Dunstable Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire at 571 Hollis Street.
According to a statement from Chief William Farrell, when crews arrived on scene, they observed smoke coming from the roof of a single-family home.
“Firefighters entered the house and determined there was an active fire in the attic,” Chief Farrell said. “Two hose lines were extended into the home, and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. The fire damage was contained to the area of origin, but the home sustained smoke and water damage on other floors.”

All residents were safely evacuated before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported. Ten residents were displaced by the fire, and the American Red Cross of Massachusetts is providing them with assistance.
Firefighters from Pepperell, Groton, and Tyngsborough provided mutual aid at the scene, while Nashua Fire Rescue covered the station.
“Crews did a great job quickly getting to the source of the fire and extinguishing it before it spread further throughout the house,” said Chief Farrell. “We appreciate all of our mutual aid partners who assisted during this incident.”
The Dunstable Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
