CLINTON โ On Friday, September 26, 2025, at approximately 5:38 p.m., Officer Shane Gilman of the Clinton Police Department was dispatched to 21 Branch Street after a resident at 18 Branch Street reported that a man who did not belong there was on the property.

โA few moments later Officer Robert Champagne and myself were dispatched to the scene,โ Officer Gilman said. โOn arrival I quickly took notice of a male party sitting on the front porch of 21 Branch Street.โ
Police later identified the man as 21-year-old Jonathan Raymond.
โI then advised him that he no longer lives here due to his apartment being condemned by the Town of Clinton Board of Health,โ Officer Gilman said.
Officer Gilman stated that a notice had been posted on Raymondโs door on September 25, 2025, informing him that his apartment had been condemned and that he had until 5:00 p.m. on September 26 to collect his belongings and vacate the premises.
Officer Gilman reported that he had repeatedly advised Raymond to leave the property peacefully, but Raymond refused, became aggressive, began yelling, and started recording both Officer Champagne and himself.
โA few moments later, Sergeant Jeffrey OโToole arrived on scene. That’s when Mr. Raymond advised me, he no longer wants to speak with me, and he would like to speak to Sgt. OโToole,โ Officer Gilman said.
Officer Gilman stated that Sgt. OโToole informed Raymond that his apartment had been condemned. In response, Raymond became hostile toward the officers and began shouting loudly, causing several neighbors to come outside to see what was happening.
โDue to Mr. Raymond’s erratic behavior and the ongoing disturbance he was creating outside of 21 Branch Street, he was placed under arrest and transported back to the Clinton Police Department,โ Officer Gilman said. โOnce we arrived back at the station Mr. Raymond continued to be very hostile towards me threatening to spit in my face and stating to me, he hopes my mother and brother die tonight. Mr. Raymond was very uncooperative during the entire booking process.โ
Jonathan Raymond was charged with the following:
- Disorderly Conduct, Subsequent Offense
- Disturbing the Peace
