CHARLTON — The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office released the name of the man who died in a car accident in Charlton last Thursday.
José Manuel Rodriguez, 58, of Southbridge, was identified as the victim of the single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. on Oct. 30 on Southbridge Road (Route 169), near the Southbridge town line.
Charlton police said Rodriguez was traveling north when his 2012 Honda Fit veered off the roadway and struck a stone wall.
He was transported by Charlton Fire Department ambulance to UMass Memorial Health — Harrington Hospital in Southbridge, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Charlton Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and State Police detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
