Car knocks down power lines after striking utility pole in Lakeville

LAKEVILLE — Shortly after 4:00 a.m. this morning, Lakeville Fire Department crews responded to a motor vehicle crash on Precinct Street near the town library.

According to a statement from the Lakeville Fire Department, Car 2, Ambulance 2, Ambulance 3, and Engine 1 responded to the scene.

“There were no significant injuries to the three occupants of the vehicle,” the Lakeville Fire Department said in it statement posted to social media at approximately 10:00 a.m. “However, the library and some nearby homes may be without power for much of the day as utility crews complete repairs.”

At the time, the department said that Precinct Street remained open, with lane restrictions in place while crews worked the area; however, the section of Precinct Street next to the library is now closed to traffic.

Drivers were advised to use caution and seek alternate routes if possible.
