Webster and Worcester police arrest man wanted on witness intimidation and firearm charges

WEBSTER — A man wanted on multiple witness intimidation charges was arrested Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, after police located him leaving an apartment on Robinson Street.

According to a statement from the Webster Police Department, Worcester Police Gang Unit officers and Webster police jointly conducted surveillance on a Robinson Street apartment where Barry Hanson was believed to be staying.

At about 5:09 p.m., Webster Police Officer Sean Ebbeling observed Hanson enter a rental vehicle and drive away at a high rate of speed. Once Hanson drove onto Main Street, officers conducted a traffic stop, and Worcester police took him into custody.

At the time of his arrest, Hanson had 11 open charges, including seven counts of possessing firearms without a permit as a convicted felon and career criminal (and convicted felon), and possession of large-capacity firearms, according to the Webster Police Department.

Hanson was also wanted on three counts of intimidation of a witness.
