TEWKSBURY — On Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, at approximately 9:33 p.m., Tewksbury police were dispatched to Main Street beneath the Route 495 overpass after receiving reports of a single-vehicle crash.
According to a statement from Tewksbury Police Chief Ryan Columbus, when officers arrived on scene they found a heavily damaged gray SUV on its side, lodged against the bridge.
Tewksbury firefighters extricated the driver, who was the vehicle’s sole occupant.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Lowell General Hospital paramedics.
“The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Middlesex District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene and are assisting Tewksbury Police with the investigation into the crash,” Chief Columbus said. “The investigation is active and ongoing, but preliminary findings suggest the driver suffered a medical issue prior to the crash.”
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
