ACTON — On Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at approximately 2:48 a.m., officers with the Acton Police Department conducted a routine traffic stop of a black Nissan for an expired registration.
According to a statement from Acton Police Chief James Cogan, officers observed a firearm inside the vehicle while speaking with the driver, identified as Truth Underwood, 25, of Oak Harbor, Washington.
During a subsequent search of the occupants, officers located a second firearm on the passenger, Lelia Perry, 20, of Greenfield.

According to police, both firearms were 9mm handguns and were loaded with a round in the chamber. One of the weapons was reported to have a defaced serial number.
Truth Underwood was arrested and charged with the following:
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Possession of Ammunition without a FID Card
Lelia Perry was arrested and charged with the following:
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
- Receiving a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number
Chief Cogan said both individuals were arrested without incident and were arraigned today in Concord District Court.
