PLYMOUTH — Shortly before 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, firefighters with the Plymouth Fire Department were dispatched to a 2.5 story residence at 60 South Meadow Road following a report of a fire outside the attached garage that was spreading into the home.Â
According to a statement from Plymouth’s Fire Chief Neil Foley, firefighters made an aggressive attack upon arrival and were able to knock down the fire within minutes, preventing major damage to the home.

“The residents have made arrangements to stay with family in the area, however the quick actions of firefighters Wednesday evening ensured that the home was not destroyed,” Chief Foley said.
No injuries were reported.Â

The Carver Fire Department provided station coverage as Plymouth units—Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 7, Ladder 3, Rescue 1, and Battalion 2—responded to the fire.
The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation by the Plymouth fire and police departments.
“The fire did not immediately appear to be suspicious,” Chief Foley said.
