HOLDEN — On Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, at approximately 5:29 a.m., the Wachusett Regional Emergency Communications Center received a report of smoke and fire coming from Ten West Market, located at 2443 Main Street.
According to a statement from Holden Fire Chief Russell Hall, the first arriving Holden fire engine confirmed smoke and fire visible from inside the building.

“A working fire was struck, bringing in mutual aid from several area towns,” Chief Hall said in the statement. “First arriving units made an aggressive attack on the fire, bringing it under control quickly.”
Chief Hall said the market sustained significant fire, smoke, and water damage.
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
The Holden Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Rutland, West Boylston, Paxton, Sterling, and Princeton fire departments, as well as Holden police, Holden DPW, and the Holden Municipal Light Department. Town-wide fire coverage during the incident was provided by the Boylston and Leicester fire departments, Leicester Emergency Medical Services, and the Worcester Fire Department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the District 8 Fire Investigation Unit and the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
