CLINTON — On Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at approximately 9:11 a.m., Clinton Police Detective Christopher Cornelius was notified that a man with an active warrant was in the police department’s lobby.

“The male was identified as Ayanle Mohamed, of Clinton,” Det. Cornelius said.
Detective Cornelius said the warrant was confirmed through the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) database, which showed an active warrant out of Framingham District Court for larceny of a motor vehicle.
“Lieutenant Thomas Nelson and myself then went to the lobby, advised Mohamed that he had a warrant, and advised him he was under arrest,” Det. Cornelius said.
Mohamed was then escorted to the booking room, where he was booked by Lieutenant Nelson, Det. Cornelius said.
“Mohamed was given all rights, including a phone call and Miranda warnings,” Det. Cornelius said. “Officer Fazio completed the fingerprints, and subsequently transported Mohamed to Clinton District Court.”
Disclaimer: If you are wondering why the arrest in this story took place in October, that’s because I had to file FOIA request(s) to obtain the court documents. FOIAs are time-consuming.
