BOSTON — On Saturday, January 17, 2026, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Boston police officers assigned to the citywide Neighborhood Engagement Safety Team (NEST) conducted an on-site drug investigation in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street.
According to a statement from the Boston Police Department, while patrolling the area, officers observed what appeared to be a hand-to-hand drug exchange between two individuals.
“Shortly afterward, officers made contact with a female who discarded a small plastic bag containing a white rock-like substance,” the Boston Police Department said in its statement. “The individual was identified and later summonsed to Roxbury District Court for possession of a Class B substance.”

Police continued monitoring the male suspect, who was observed engaging in further suspected street-level narcotics activity with another individual.
The Boston Police Department said that based on observations and information relayed to responding units, officers located the suspect — later identified as Trahern Combs — inside a nearby business and placed him under arrest without incident.

- Three medium plastic bags containing fentanyl (about 10 grams total)
