BOLTON — Bolton police responded to Nashoba Regional High School this morning following a report that a student was in possession of a firearm on school grounds.
According to a statement from Bolton’s Acting Police Chief Kimberly Barry, school administrators acted promptly upon receiving the report and recovered a CO2-style handgun from the student.

A CO2-style handgun is an air-powered pistol that uses a small compressed carbon dioxide cartridge to fire projectiles such as BBs or pellets.
“There is no ongoing threat to the school community,” Chief Barry said in the statement, adding that the incident did not disrupt school operations and no lockdown was required.
“Police chiefs within the district were notified, and additional resources were made available as needed,” Chief Barry said. “Officers remained on site through the end of the school day to provide support and ensure continued safety.”
The juvenile involved was removed from the school and will face charges, police said.
