BOLTON — On Thursday, June 17, 2025, at approximately 6:27 p.m., the Bolton Police Department and Bolton Fire-EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Wattaquadock Hill Road and Main Street following a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
According to a statement from Bolton’s Police Chief Luke Hamburger, when first responders arrived on scene, they located the pedestrian in the roadway on Wattaquadock Hill Road, in close proximity to the intersection.
Traffic on Main Street and Wattaquadock Hill Road was temporarily diverted in order to allow first responders to provide emergency medical care and perform an investigation, Chief Hamburger said. Lancaster police also responded to the scene to assist with diverting traffic on Main Street.
According to Chief Hamburger, the pedestrian, who was conscious and able to speak with the first responders after the collision, was transported to an area hospital, and is expected to survive.
“The vehicle operator was interviewed and later released at the scene,” Chief Hamburger said.
Wattaquadock Hill Road between Main Street and Manor Road remained closed until about 7:40 p.m.
“Neither the pedestrian or the vehicle operator were believed to be involved with or taking part in the political demonstration event being held at that time across the street at the Bolton Town Common,” Chief Hamburger said.
Bolton police are asking anyone who has not already spoken with officers and may have information—especially photos or videos of the collision as it first occurred—to contact the department.
The collision remains under investigation by the Bolton Police Department.
Chief Hamburger said no further information about the individuals involved in the incident are being released at the present time.
