BOLTON — A Nashoba Regional High School student was removed from campus Friday after school administrators were alerted that the student may have had a knife on school grounds.
In a message sent to the Nashoba community, Principal Dr. Kate Boynton said administrators immediately located the student and confiscated a knife.
The student was subsequently removed from campus.
“At this time, there is no ongoing threat to the school,” Boynton wrote.
School officials are working with the Bolton Police Department as they respond to and investigate the incident. Boynton said appropriate actions are being taken in accordance with school safety protocols and district policies.
Boynton added that because the matter involves a student, the school could not provide additional details.
Boynton also thanked the student who reported the concern to school officials.
“We are especially grateful to the student who came forward and reported the concern,” Boynton wrote. “Their actions are an important reminder of our ‘See Something, Say Something’ message and the role we all play in keeping our school community safe.”
Boynton concluded her statement by saying student and staff safety remain the administration’s highest priority.
