TEMPLETON — On Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, at approximately 10:35 a.m., Templeton Police Officer Robert Deschenes was returning from Gardner District Court where he was working as the court officer when he heard dispatch request police respond to Carruth Road for a possible restraining order violation.

“I advised dispatch I would also proceed to the call,” Officer Deschenes said. “It should be noted that over the past couple days the Templeton Police Department has responded to 55 Carruth Road for a dispute between Mr. Kevin [last name redacted], and his ex-girlfriend Ms. Kristen Farren.”

According to police, Kristen P. Farren, 33, is a resident of Winchester, New Hampshire.

“Kevin currently has an active restraining order against Kristen out of the Winchendon District Court,” Officer Deschenes said. “The order was served to Kristen in hand yesterday by Detective [Eric] Smith.”

While en route, Officer Deschenes said he was updated that the vehicle he was to look for — Farren’s —was a red Chevrolet pickup truck with large tires and New Hampshire license plates.

“Upon arrival in the area of Carruth [Road], I observed a red truck in front of me matching that description,” Officer Deschenes said. “The truck was heading towards 55 Carruth Road. My emergency blue lights were already activated, and I observed the vehicle pull into 41 Carruth Road.”

Officer Deschenes pulled up behind the vehicle, advised dispatch, and exited his cruiser.

Officer Deschenes approached the truck and identified the driver as Kristen Farren. At around this time, Phillipston Police Officer Jennifer Harding arrived on scene to assist.

Officer Deschenes said Farren reported that she had received a message through an app from Kevin asking her to drop off some items at his Carruth Road address.

“I asked her if she could show me the message and the app, and Kristen stated she did not have access to it,” Officer Deschenes said. “Kristen appeared upset and was crying at times during the conversation.”

Detective Smith and Sergeant Steven Flis also arrived on scene to assist.

“Sergeant Flis proceeded to 55 Carruth Road to speak with the reporting party,” Officer Deschenes said. “I did my best to try and get Kristen to relax and calm down, explaining we would work through this with her, and figure everything out. Kristen advised that she did drop some things off on the porch of 55 Carruth Road.”

After speaking with Kevin, Sergeant Flis contacted Officer Deschenes and advised that Farren would be placed under arrest for violating the restraining order.

“Sergeant Flis said that Kristen was parked at the residence revving her engine, yelling things, and then left a package on his porch,” Officer Deschenes said.

Officer Deschenes told Farren to exit the truck, which she did without incident.

After Officer Harding searched Farren, she was handcuffed and placed in the rear of a cruiser.

Farren was then transported to the Templeton Police Department for booking.

Kristen P. Farren, 33, of Winchester, New Hampshire, was charged with the following:

  • Abuse Prevention Order, Violate

Farren was arraigned in Winchendon District Court on Dec. 4, 2025. Following her arraignment, she was released on personal recognizance.

On Dec. 22, 2025, Farren attended a pretrial hearing. Her next court date is a discovery compliance and jury election hearing scheduled for March 25, 2026.
