Worcester man passed out behind wheel at Dudley gas pump arrested after police find drugs in vehicle

DUDLEY — On Friday, February 27, 2026, at approximately 6:06 p.m., Officer Luis Pacheco of the Dudley Police Department was dispatched to the Cumberland Farms located at 180 West Main Street following a report of two individuals “slumped” over at the gas pump in a vehicle with Massachusetts plates.

Dudley Police Sergeant Keith Remillard and Officer Dylan Reney, who were also working the 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. shift, were dispatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, Dudley EMS evaluated a male party — later identified as Felix Rodriguez — and a female party — later identified as [first name redacted] Martinez — sitting in a red-colored Toyota Corolla,” Officer Pacheco said. “Both parties were evaluated by EMS and refused treatment.”

Officer Pacheco said he then engaged in conversation with Martinez on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

“Martinez’s pupils were dilated, and she appeared to doze off during our conversation,” Officer Pacheco said. “I asked Martinez why she had fell asleep in the driver’s seat of the vehicle parked at the fuel pump, and she stated she was tired. Officer Reney engaged in conversation with Rodriguez, who also stated he had fallen asleep because he was tired.”

While he was speaking with Martinez, Officer Pacheco said he observed “Chore Boy” brand scrubber, a lighter, and a glass pipe with burnt residue on it in the vehicle.

“Based on my training and experience, including being a member of the Southern Worcester County Drug & Counter Crime Task Force, all of the above listed items are used in the consumption of illegal narcotics,” Officer Pacheco said. “At this point, I advised Officer Reney to detain Rodriguez. Rodriguez was advised to exit the front passenger side of the vehicle, which he did.”

Rodriguez was handcuffed behind his back after he exited the vehicle.

Officer Pacheco then asked Martinez to exit the vehicle and if she would speak with him in private.

“Martinez stated they had consumed crack cocaine yesterday morning but had not consumed anything today,” Officer Pacheco said. “Martinez stated there was currently no illegal narcotics located in the vehicle. At this time, I requested Webster Police K-9 Officer Thomas Motyka respond with his K-9 that is certified in narcotics detection.”

Officer Motyka responded a short time later with his K-9 and conducted an exterior and interior sweep of the vehicle.

“Officer Motyka did not observe any sudden behavior changes by his K-9, but Officer Motyka did visibly observe a small clear bag with a white colored rocklike substance located in the bottom of the driver’s side door panel,” Officer Pacheco said, adding that based on his training and experience, the white, rocklike substance appeared to be crack cocaine.

Upon inspecting the interior of the vehicle, Officer Pacheco said he located two small clear plastic “corner bags,” one containing a white and blue-colored powder substance and another containing two blue pills.

“It should be noted that, based on my training and experience, small clear plastic ‘corner bags’ are commonly used to package and transport illegal narcotics,” Officer Pacheco said.

Officer Pacheco noted that multiple small plastic containers with white residue inside them were also located in the vehicle, along with a small electric scale.

“I asked Martinez who was at this point handcuffed behind her back, if any of the clear plastic bags located were hers,” Officer Pacheco said. “Martinez stated multiple times they were not hers. Rodriguez stated the blue colored pills were Xanax and they were his and he did not have a prescription. I then asked Rodriguez if the bag containing the white colored rock like substance was his. After a short conversation between Rodriguez and Martinez, Rodriguez stated it was his. Rodriguez also stated the blue and white colored powdery substance was his ‘creatine.’”

At this time, Rodriguez was advised that he was under arrest. He was then placed in the rear of a cruiser and transported to the Dudley Police Department for booking.

“Martinez secured her vehicle in the Cumberland Farms parking lot, and I provided her a courtesy transport to the Dudley Police Department to wait for Rodriguez,” Officer Pacheco said. “Rodriguez was booked by Officer Reney, and bail was set by Jen Tondel at personal recognizance. Rodriguez was released a short time later. Officer Reney transported the suspected narcotics to the Charlton Police Department to be evaluated by their TruNarc Narcotics Analyzer. The white colored rock like substance weighed 0.2 grams and tested positive for cocaine base. The blue colored pills, and also the blue and white colored powdery substance tested inconclusive. These items will be sent out for further testing.”

Felix Rodriguez, 50, of Pleasant Street, Worcester, MA, was charged with the following:

  • Possess Class B Drug
  • Possess Class E Drug

Rodriguez was arraigned in Dudley District Court on March 2, 2026. Following his arraignment, he was released on $500 cash bail, which was set by the judge, even though he was initially released on personal recognizance after he was booked at the police station.

Rodriguez’s next court date is a pretrial hearing scheduled for March 19, 2026.
