
FITCHBURG – A 36-year-old Leominster man was arraigned in Fitchburg District Court today on charges pertaining to the stabbing of 45-year-old Jesus Maisonet Davila in Fitchburg Saturday, according to the Worcester County District Attorney’s office.
Jeremy A. Cruz, of Leominster, allegedly stabbed Davila, a Fitchburg resident, just before 2 p.m. on July 1 in the area of 199 Main Street in Fitchburg.
Davila was transported to an area hospital by EMS where he remains hospitalized.
Cruz was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and armed assault to murder.
Cruz was held on $50,000 bail by Judge Christopher LoConto for the assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury charge. According to the Worcester County District Attorney’s office, Cruz was also held without bail until his dangerousness hearing scheduled for July 10th on the armed assault to murder charge.
Detectives with the Fitchburg Police Department and State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office are still investigating the incident.
