Dudley man charged for confronting father who banged on wife’s car window in primary school no-parking zone

DUDLEY — On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Officer Adam Wright, who was assigned to duty as the school resource officer of the Dudley Police Department, received a phone call from the secretary of Dudley Primary School who said there were parents at student pickup who were involved in a verbal altercation.

Officer Wright said that while he was speaking with the secretary, she said all involved individuals had already left the area.

“I said I would go to the school in the morning to get more details,” Officer Wright said. “Later that night, I received a text message from the Principal of Douglas Primary School, Cindy Socha, who told me the incident stemmed from a parking issue. She further stated one of the involved parents came to her office to discuss the incident. I told her I would discuss this further with her in the morning as well.”

Officer Wright said that on January 22, he arrived at the primary school to speak with Principal Socha.

“She told me the following about the incident yesterday. A parent, Jessica Nguyen, was parked in a no parking area to pick up her child,” Officer Wright said.

Officer Wright said Nguyen told Principal Socha she parked there because she had a baby in the car and wanted to be closer.

“When she got back in her vehicle, a parent, Cody Riley, who was there picking up his child, began banging on her window and ‘yelling’ at her, saying she could not park there,” Officer Wright said. “Jessica said a verbal argument then ensued and Cody called her a ‘stupid b*tch.’”

Officer Wright said he then went to speak with two staff members, Jen and Cassidy, who had allegedly witnessed the exchange the day before.

“They told me Jessica appeared to be the aggressor in this incident and was the one who was yelling at Cody,” Officer Wright said. “While I was talking to Jen and Cassidy, they were looking outside to identify which parents were involved. At one point, they said it looked like an argument was occurring outside.”

Officer Wright said he immediately exited the building and walked in the direction of the yelling.

“As I was walking, I observed a male in a blue sweatshirt, later identified as Albert Galloway, standing in the middle of the road, yelling with his hands in the air,” Officer Wright said. “The yelling was directed at a different male in a red sweatshirt, later identified as Cody, who was walking away holding a child’s hand.”

As Galloway began walking out of the roadway in the direction of Riley, Officer Wright said he intercepted him at the end of the sidewalk.

“I asked Albert why he was yelling and what was going on,” Officer Wright said. “He told me Cody called his wife a ‘stupid b*tch’ yesterday at parent pick up and was ‘banging all over the car and the windows’ which scared her. Albert further said he was there to see if Cody ‘had a problem’ and was there to address it. While talking to Albert, he was loud, animated and swearing while children and parents were walking to and from the school for drop off. After talking to Albert for about a minute, Cody walked up to us while Albert was noticeably and verbally directing his frustrations at him, which escalated Albert further. During this time, I physically placed myself between them, called for more officers and ordered Cody to go to his vehicle.”

Riley went to his vehicle while Officer Wright continued to speak with Galloway about what transpired that day.

“We developed a rapport and he began to tell me how his wife was scared from yesterday’s incident and he, as a father and man, felt like he had to come here to ‘check’ Cody,” Officer Wright said. “He went as far as to say that a physical altercation did not have to occur here and would offer to Cody to go somewhere else to settle this like men. I advised him that that was not a good idea.”

Officer Wright said that while he was speaking with Galloway, Riley suddenly approached with his wife.

“They were yelling at Albert and saying they wanted charges pressed, among other things, which once again, escalated Albert and the situation,” Officer Wright said.

Officer Wright told Riley and his wife to return to their vehicle and said he would speak with them separately.

At around this time, Chief Nick Miglionico, Detective Sergeant Aaron McLaughlin, Officer Jacob Bloniasz and Officer Jacquelyn Brimmer arrived on scene to assist.

“I advised them of the situation and Officers Bloniasz and Brimmer went to speak with Cody while Chief Miglionico stayed with me,” Officer Wright said. “Det. Sgt. McLaughlin went to speak with school staff and cleared shortly after.”

After Officers Bloniasz and Brimmer obtained his information, Riley was asked to leave the area.

“Albert was calmed down and eventually apologized for his actions, identifying that this was not the place to cause such a scene and the way he went about addressing Cody was not optimal,” Officer Wright said. “He left shortly after.”

Officer Wright said that once everything settled down, he met with Principal Socha to have a conversation with her and the Superintendent of Douglas Public Schools, Dr. Paul Vieira.

“The possibility of no trespassing both parents from the property was discussed, but ultimately, it was decided I would call Albert and Cody to advise them that if something like this was to ever occur again between the both of them, charges may follow, as well as the no trespass order from the school,” Officer Wright said. “Albert agreed and apologized for today’s incident. Cody stated the event was traumatic to him and wanted to discuss the possibility of charges. I asked if he could send me an email with his statement regarding the incident yesterday, as well as the one today, to which he said he could. I received his statement a short time later.”

A meeting was held later that day in Dr. Vieira’s office with Dr. Vieira, Principal Socha, Riley, his wife, and Officer Wright.

“Cody wanted to discuss this situation further and the steps going forward. During this meeting, multiple options for Cody were discussed, including a harassment prevention order against Albert,” Officer Wright said. “After the meeting, I advised Cody that I would call him tomorrow to check in with him about this situation and to see how he wanted to proceed forward.”

On Jan. 23, 2026, Officer Wright said he spoke with Riley on the phone. During the call, Riley said he wanted to press charges.

“I then called Albert to advise him of the charge. Albert told me he was going to go to the police station to request the log entry for the call then head to Uxbridge District Court to pursue charges on his own,” Officer Wright said.

Albert K. Galloway, 31, of Douglas, MA, was charged with the following:

  • Threatening to Commit a Crime (to wit, assault and battery)
    • “Galloway expressed an intent to assault Cody by stating this directly to him, in numerous different ways,” Officer Wright said. “These threats were heard by passersby, which included children and adults. Galloway expressed directly to me he was there to confront Cody and wanted to see if they could handle this situation like men. These threats put Cody in fear for his safety as he believed an assault could have been carried out due to Galloway’s erratic and aggressive behavior.”

Galloway’s arraignment was scheduled for Jan. 26, 2026, in Uxbridge District Court.
