Southbridge woman who struck and killed 10-year-old girl in Webster crash arrested

WEBSTER — A Southbridge woman was arrested today in connection with the April 11, 2026, crash in Webster that killed 10-year-old Marleigh Guevara.

According to the Webster Police Department, Sherrie Mae Plitouke, 35, of Southbridge, was arrested at her residence by Webster and Southbridge police. She is currently being held on $100,000 bail on charges of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, negligent operation and speeding.

On April 11, 2026, at approximately 12:49 p.m., the South Worcester County Communication Center received a 911 call about a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. Webster police, firefighters and EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene.

Before first responders arrived, a passerby carrying a personal automated external defibrillator began CPR on the victim, a 10-year-old girl later identified as Marleigh Guevara, who was a student at Park Avenue School.

First responders took over medical care when they arrived, and Webster EMS transported Guevara to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.

Police previously identified Plitouke as the driver of the vehicle involved. After the crash, an investigation was conducted by the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Accident Reconstruction Unit, in coordination with the Webster Police Department and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.

Plitouke is scheduled to be arraigned in Dudley District Court on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
