Leominster man arraigned for stealing girlfriend’s father’s wallet during drug-related dispute

LEOMINSTER — On Sunday, January 4, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Officer Mackenson Adescar of the Leominster Police Department was dispatched to an apartment on Arlington Street following a report of a stolen wallet.

“Dispatch informed responding units over the radio that the caller reported his daughter and her boyfriend had just stolen his wallet and left in an unregistered black Jeep Cherokee, heading toward Merriam [Avenue],” Officer Adescar said. “The caller identified his daughter as Lailanii [last name redacted] and her boyfriend as Jaton.”

According to police, Jaton Z. Milliard, 22, is a resident of Leominster, MA.

Officer Adescar said that when he arrived on scene, he spoke with the reporting party, Holvin, while Officer Juan Ramos searched for the Jeep in the area of Merriam Avenue.

“Holvin reported that Jaton, his daughter’s boyfriend, was at his apartment asking for a place to buy drugs,” Officer Adescar said. “Holvin stated that he told Jaton he had been sober for over six months and did not know any locations where drugs were sold.”

Officer Adescar said that Holvin explained that while he was arguing with Jaton about where to buy drugs, his wallet was on a table in the room where they were arguing. Holvin said Jaton then rushed to the table, grabbed his wallet, and then ran outside.

“Holvin reported that Lailanii was waiting for Jaton in the car; after taking the wallet, Jaton got into the vehicle with Lailanii and drove off toward Merriam Avenue,” Officer Adescar said. “Holvin reported that he had $1,100 in cash in his wallet and a $500 check, though he was unsure whether Jaton could cash it. He stated that Lailanii and Jaton were aware of the money because he intended to use it to pay for a studio the following day. Holvin mentioned that Lailanii had planned everything with Jaton. It is important to note that Holvin only knew Jaton’s first name and that he was from Maine.”

Officer Adescar said that while he was at the station, he attempted to call Lailanii using a recorded line, but was unable to leave her a message. The incident consequently remained under investigation.

The following day, Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, Officer Adescar said that Officer Gabrielle Larivee emailed him to report that she had responded to a domestic call involving Jaton, Lailanii, and Holvin, the same individuals involved in the Jan. 4, 2026 larceny incident.

“Officer Larivee reported that Jaton Milliard admitted he had Holvin’s wallet but did not take anything out of it,” Officer Adescar said. “However, Jaton could not give Officer Larivee a good reason for having the wallet. Jaton said he went back to the apartment to return the wallet that night, which led to a domestic violence incident.”

Officer Adescar said that, “due to the facts and circumstances,” he requested a hearing for Jaton and Lailanii on the charge of larceny over $1,200.

Jaton was later arraigned on the larceny over $1,200 charge in Leominster District Court on March 26, 2026. His next court date, a pretrial conference, is scheduled for April 30, 2026.
