Southbridge woman held on $25,000 bail for Webster crash that killed 10-year-old girl

WEBSTER — The Southbridge woman accused of striking and killing a 10-year-old girl with her car in Webster earlier this month was held on $25,000 bail after her arraignment today.

According to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr., Sherry Plitouke, 35, was arraigned in Dudley District Court on charges of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding in a special regulation zone.

On April 11, 2026, Webster police, firefighters, and EMS responded to the area of School Street after  the South Worcester County Communication Center received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. 

Before first responders arrived, a passerby carrying a personal automated external defibrillator began CPR on the victim, a 10-year-old girl later identified as Marleigh Guevara, who was a student at Park Avenue School.

First responders took over medical care when they arrived, and Webster EMS transported Guevara to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead the following day.

The Webster Police Department, the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office are continuing to investigate the crash.

The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office said no further information will be released at this time.

  1. Much more painful knowing that this beautiful girl would still be here had it not been for 1 stupid COMPLETELY AVOIDABLE decision made by this person.
