One killed, another injured in two-vehicle crash in Chelmsford

CHELMSFORD — On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at approximately 11:56 p.m., Chelmsford police and fire personnel responded to the area of 99 Stedman Street following reports of a crash.

According to Chelmsford Police Chief Colin Spence, when officers arrived on scene, they found two vehicles with significant front-end damage and bystanders were administering care to one of the drivers, an adult male. The man was then taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

One occupant of the other vehicle involved was also taken to an area hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening, according to Chief Spence.

The Chelmsford Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
