Roofing contractor dies after falling from roof of Southborough home

SOUTHBOROUGH — On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at approximately 3:39 p.m., Southborough police and fire personnel responded to a Flagg Road residence after a roofing contractor fell from the roof of the home.

According to Southborough Police Chief Ryan Newell, when first responders arrived on scene, they found an adult man who had sustained serious injuries consistent with a fall from the roof.

The Southborough Fire Department assessed the man at the scene and initiated emergency medical care. He was then transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

In a statement, Chief Newell said the identity of the individual is being withheld at the present time.

The incident remains under investigation by the Southborough Police Department Detective Bureau, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
