WEBSTER — On Saturday, April 11, 2026, at approximately 11:21 p.m., Webster Police Officers Katrina Mrzygłod, Shane Murray and Kevin Johnson responded to a residence on School Street after the South Worcester County Communications Center received a call from a man who said Lily Sepulveda called him and reported that her father, Roberto Sepulveda, was “out of control.”

“Lily stated Roberto had been drinking alcoholic beverages, was being verbally aggressive, and hit her,” Officer Mrzygłod said.
According to police, Roberto Sepulveda, 48, is a resident of School Street in Webster, MA.
“Upon arrival, we spoke to Lily outside of the residence,” Officer Mrzygłod said. “Lily stated that her parents recently separated, and ever since then, her father had been struggling.”
According to Officer Mrzygłod, Lily said she was upstairs in her room when she heard a loud noise outside that sounded like glass breaking.
“When she went downstairs to check what the noise was, she saw it was Roberto yelling and he had just thrown a clay pottery object that was broken into many small pieces on the sidewalk,” Officer Mrzygłod said. Lily added that Roberto consumed a “whole sleeve of nips,” throughout the night.
Lily said she then tried to get Roberto to come back inside the residence, but he was being very argumentative
“Once inside, Lily stated that Roberto threw a sandwich at her neck and face area,” Officer Mrzygłod said. “When I looked at the area, it did seem to be visibly red. She stated after the sandwich was thrown at her, she then physically kicked Roberto in the buttocks.”
After Lily kicked Roberto, she told Officer Mrzygłod that he went upstairs and was still visibly irritated, but eventually calmed down.
“I asked Lily if she would be able to bring myself and the other officers present, inside the house to speak to Roberto,” Officer Mrzygłod said. “She stated she had a dog inside that was not friendly, to which I then asked if she would be able to tell Roberto to come outside.”
Officer Mrzygłod said that when Lily came back outside, she stated Roberto was no longer inside the residence and she was unsure of his location.
“At the time of the incident there were three juveniles, Lily’s siblings, inside of the residence,” Officer Mrzygłod said. “One of the juveniles stated she heard Roberto go downstairs while Lily was outside speaking to us, leading us to believe Roberto left the residence.”
Officer Mrzygłod, Officer Murray, and Officer Kevin Johnson then entered the residence to conduct a protective sweep in an attempt to locate Roberto, but were unable to find him.
“I obtained a description of what Roberto looked like at the time of the incident via a recent cell phone video Lily took,” Officer Mrzygłod said. Officer Mrzygłod then advised South Worcester County Communications Center dispatchers to issue a BOLO (Be on the Look Out) alert to the Dudley Police Department.
“Officer Johnson then patrolled the area in an attempt to look for Roberto while I read Lily her Abused Person Notice of Rights,” Officer Mrzygłod said. “Lily stated she understood everything I read her and did not wish to obtain a restraining order or pursue criminal charges against Roberto.”
Lily said her mother was on her way to pick up her three younger siblings, who were still at the residence.
“Lily stated that she would be spending the night at a friend’s house. Officer Murray and I did another protective sweep of the residence, including the upstairs but were still unable to locate Roberto,” Officer Mrzyglod said. “Dudley Police Officer Luis Pacheco with K-9 Maverick, alongside Officer Dylan Reney, arrived at the residence to conduct a K-9 track. At the same time, Officer Johnson deployed a drone in an attempt to search for Roberto.”
The K-9 track began at 12:18 a.m., when K-9 Maverick started tracking Roberto’s scent and immediately pulled toward a residence directly behind 173 School Street, Officer Mrzyglod reported.
“Shortly thereafter, Roberto was found lying on his stomach next to a fence on the ground,” Officer Mrzyglod said. “He was told to stay on his stomach, then I handcuffed him and double locked the handcuffs, per department policy.”
Roberto was then transported back to the Webster Police Department for booking.
“During the booking process, Roberto was read his Miranda rights by myself, to which he stated he understood his rights,” Officer Mrzyglod said. “Roberto stated that he was struggling mentally with the loss of his girlfriend. He stated he was drinking and got upset over the situation, which is why he broke the clay pottery outside. He stated Lily kicked him in his buttocks, starting the physical altercation, to which he stated he then threw the sandwich at her afterwards. He stated he was scared of police, which is why he was hidden.”
Once booking was complete, Officer Mrzygłod spoke with Clerk Magistrate Jennie Caissie, who stated that once Roberto’s six-hour hold was over, she would come to the station to release him on personal recognizance.
“A report of Children Alleged to be Suffering from Serious Physical or Emotional Injury by Abuse or Neglect was filed verbally and a written report was also faxed over to the Department of Children and Families due to juveniles being present in the home when the incident occurred,” Officer Mrzyglod said.
Roberto Sepulveda, 48, of Webster, was charged with the following (Officer Mrzyglod’s explanation for the charge is provided in quotations):
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon: “Roberto Sepulveda did assault his daughter, Lily Sepulveda by being verbally aggressive and throwing a sandwich at her face and neck area,” Officer Mrzyglod explained.
Sepulveda was arraigned in Dudley District Court on April 13, 2026. Following his arraignment, he was released on personal recognizance under the condition that he stay away from the alleged victim. Roberto’s next court date is a pretrial hearing scheduled for June 6, 2026.
