WORCESTER — On Sunday, May 10, 2026, at approximately 9:16 p.m., Worcester police responded to the area of 137 Hope Avenue after Worcester Police Communications received a report that a man had been struck by a vehicle.
According to the Worcester Police Department, when officers arrived on scene, they located the pedestrian, later identified as 62-year-old James McGuire, of Worcester. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Worcester police said a preliminary investigation indicates that McGuire was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by the vehicle.
There were no other injuries.
The Worcester Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
