BLACKSTONE — On Thursday, April 9, 2026, members of the Blackstone Police Department, assisted by several outside agencies, served an arrest warrant for 52-year-old Jason Landry outside his residence at 7 May Street, Apartment 2.

According to Detective Travis Loether, Blackstone police were assisted by the Blackstone Valley Drug Task Force, Woonsocket police detectives and Rhode Island State Police troopers.
“Law enforcement observed Landry present outside of his home prior to our arrival,” Detective Loether said. “Upon arrival, Landry was located as a passenger in a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of 7 May Street. Law enforcement then approached Landry and gave him an exit order.”
Detective Loether said Landry was then removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest without incident.
“He was placed in double locked handcuffs and searched incident to arrest. Landry was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia associated with the smoking of crack cocaine,” Detective Loether said, adding that there were no drugs found in Landry’s possession.
Landry was later transported to the station for booking.
Detective Loether said that, in addition to the warrant out for his arrest, he would be charging Landry with one count of keeper of a noisy and disorderly home.
“For the past several months I have been conducting an ongoing drug investigation relative to the address of 7 May Street apartment #2, the sole legal tenant being Jason Landry, and its occupants,” Detective Loether said. “During the investigation I have established a daily, around the clock, trend of the coming an going of known drug users and prostitutes. Police have encountered numerous people at the property who do openly state that they are drug users and use the address of 7 May Street, Apt. 2, to use drugs and engage in prostitution. For months, area residents have been reporting these issues to police along with surveillance footage of people whom I know to be drug dealers, drug users, and prostitutes.”
Bristol County Sheriff Paul Heroux notes that there is an inverse correlation between the frequency of a crime and how serious it is in individuals. Less serious crimes tend to be more frequent. More serious crimes, like murder and rape, tend to be less frequent.
Detective Loether said surveillance footage from area residents also captured activity consistent with street-level drug transactions, as well as people coming and going from 7 May St., Apt. 2.
“Immediately after law enforcement left the area today after the arrest of Landry, dispatch received a phone call from someone reporting noises like a domestic fight taking place at that address,” Detective Loether said. “Upon arrival, we were met by area residents who were all outside and furious at the continuation of the problem even though Landry was in custody.”
Detective Loether said the residents told police that Landry’s mother had just dropped off several people who did not live there and that those individuals were part of the ongoing disturbance at the apartment.
“These same people were thought to be in a fight or [engaging in] verbal arguments,” Detective Loether said. “We knocked on the door to speak with people inside the address, but as usual, no one answers the door.”
Detective Loether added that, for some time, the property owner has been fighting a civil eviction case against Landry.
“During this process, the property owner has also relayed to me the countless complaints received from tenants and neighbors regarding the tenant, Landry, and the people who illegally live there and sublet the apartment from Landry, who also engage in drug activity,” Detective Loether said. Adding, “On April 2nd, police responded to the address for a fight taking place between these illegal tenants. Upon arrival, Jason Landry and numerous others fled the property and ran into Rhode Island, which
is a common occurrence.”
Detective Loether said he then encountered an individual who said he was returning “home” to the address and claimed he sublets from Landry.
“He then invited me into the residence to see the room he rents which is on the first floor. The only way to enter the residence at that time was from the second floor,” Detective Loether said. “Upon entering and walking through the residence, I observed drug residue and drug paraphernalia such as crack pipes and syringes everywhere throughout the second floor, which I know to be the area that Landry stays in. I observed drugs to be located in the same area that I had photographed several months ago that provided the probable cause for the charges that the arrest warrant are based upon.”
Jason C. Landry, 52, of 7 May Street, Apt. 2, Blackstone, was arrested and charged with:

Landry was arraigned in Uxbridge District Court on April 10, 2026. Following his arraignment, Landry was released on $100 cash bail under the condition that he enter Spectrum Health Systems’ inpatient detoxification program, complete the program, comply with aftercare, sign releases for probation and report to probation within 24 hours of his release from Spectrum.
Landry’s next court date is a pretrial hearing scheduled for May 12, 2026.
