Douglas man charged with kidnapping for dragging woman from car into basement before her escape

DOUGLAS โ€” On Sunday, March 22, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Officer Jacquelyn Brimmer of the Douglas Police Department said a woman came into the lobby crying and when she spoke with her it was difficult to understand what she was trying to say.

“I brought her into the interview room where she stated that she was trying to break up with her boyfriend, Brandon Turner,” Officer Brimmer said. “She said, ‘He’s a scary man; he’s going to end up killing someone.’ She mentioned this several times while I was speaking with her.”

Officer Brimmer said the woman reported that she had been in a relationship with Turner since December 2025.

According to police, Brandon M. Turner, 32, is a resident of Hemlock Street in Douglas, MA.

“[The reporting party] stated she attempted to leave him approximately four to six weeks ago, and during that time, he put his hands around her neck while at her house in Millbury,” Officer Brimmer said.

Officer Brimmer added that the report would also be forwarded to Millbury police because the incident had not been reported to them yet.

“[The reporting party] stated she was bringing Brandon home, when she got to his driveway, he wanted her to go inside and she did not want to,” Officer Brimmer said. “She stated that he came in the car through the driver’s door and pushed the push to start/stop button, turning off the vehicle, and then kept grabbing her legs to prevent her from pushing the brake to start the vehicle.”

The woman said she was gripping the steering wheel and Turner attempted to pry both of her hands off it.

“She stated eventually he picked her up out of the vehicle and started dragging her towards the house, she continued stating she did not want to go inside, and she attempted to break free from his hold,” Officer Brimmer said. “She stated while he was bringing her inside she was reaching out and trying to hold onto the door jams so she couldn’t be brought through the door.”

Officer Brimmer said the woman reported that Turner brought her into the house through the basement door, and that she was afraid that once she was inside, she would not be able to leave.

The reporting party stated that once they were inside the basement, Turner put her down. She then attempted to run toward the door, but he prevented her from leaving by pulling her back.

“He told her to go upstairs, which she did. After they went upstairs she stated his demeanor changed and he wanted her to sit on the couch and kiss him,” Officer Brimmer said, adding that the woman instead told Turner repeatedly that she wanted to leave and go home.

“She stated he got up and opened the basement door, and she then ran to the front door and to her car and came to the police station,” Officer Brimmer said.

Officer Brimmer said the reporting party was advised of her right to seek a 209Aย (i.e., abuse prevention order) and declined at that time, but said she may apply for one if Turner is released.

“She requested not to be recorded, but did provide a written statement,” Officer Brimmer added.

Officer Brimmer said she and Officer Jacob Bloniasz then went to Turnerโ€™s house, where Turner came outside as Officer Bloniasz approached the front door.

“He stated that [the reporting party] picked him up yesterday and they spent the night at her house and she was bringing him home and she came inside,” Officer Brimmer said. Adding, “Brandon was arrested without incident and transported to the Douglas Police Department.”

Brandon Turner, 32, of Douglas, was charged with the following:

  • Assault & Battery on Family/Household Member
  • Kidnapping

Turner’s arraignment was scheduled for March 23, 2026, in Uxbridge District Court.
