PVC pipe bomb found in Lakeville, investigation underway

LAKEVILLE — On Saturday, May 16, 2026, at approximately 12:38 p.m., the Lakeville Police Department was notified that an individual had located what appeared to be a pipe bomb on the edge of Egger Bog Pond Road off of Highland Road.

According to Lakeville Police Chief Matthew Perkins, the Lakeville Police Department contacted the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad, which responded to the scene and confirmed that it was a PVC pipe bomb.

“The State Police Bomb Squad safely disposed of the bomb,” Chief Perkins said. Adding, “Lakeville Police Detective Robert Schiffer is leading Lakeville police’s investigation into this incident.”
