WORCESTER — On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at approximately 10:23 p.m., Worcester police responded to Green Street following a report of a person with a gun.
According to the Worcester Police Department, witnesses told police that a vehicle was driving in the area when someone inside dropped a gun on the ground.
The Worcester Police Department said officers found several rounds scattered at the scene. Moments later, a man allegedly ran to the area, picked up the firearm, and ran away.
An investigation led officers to a suspect nearby on Green Street. The suspect was identified as Reynaldo Martinez, 21, of Worcester.
Martinez was placed under arrest, and police said the gun was recovered. The firearm was found to have no serial number.
Martinez was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, possession of an untraceable firearm, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm without an FID card, and other gun-related offenses, according to the Worcester Police Department.
