WESTBOROUGH — Ashlyn Mercier, an Oxford native and Westborough police officer, was crowned Miss Massachusetts over the weekend.
The Oxford Police Department announced Mercier’s win in a social media post, saying she was born and raised in Oxford and is the daughter of Oxford police Corporal Kevin Mercier.
In its post, the Oxford Police Department added that Mercier is the first police officer to hold the Miss Massachusetts crown.
The Westborough Police Department also congratulated Mercier in a social media post, writing, “Officer by day, Miss Massachusetts by title, and making the rest of us look bad 24/7.”
Mercier was crowned June 20 at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester and will represent Massachusetts at the Miss America competition in September.
