HAVERHILL — On Thursday, June 25, 2026, at approximately 3:55 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Portland Street and 5th Avenue following a report of a collision involving a bus and two children riding a motorized scooter.
According to the Haverhill Police Department, both children sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
In a social media post at about 7:03 p.m., the Haverhill Police Department said the intersection of Portland Street and 5th Avenue remains an active scene as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Motorists and pedestrians are being asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the investigation is complete.
The Haverhill Police Department said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
