GRAFTON — An off-duty Massachusetts State Police trooper was killed Sunday evening in a crash involving his motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on Route 122 in Grafton, Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early’s Office announced.
Trooper Jacob Mick, 31, was operating a motorcycle on Providence Road at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026, when it was involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle, according to a preliminary investigation.
Trooper Mick was pronounced dead at the scene.
The operator of the passenger vehicle was transported to UMass Lakeside with non-life-threatening injuries.
“We extend our deepest condolences to Trooper Mick’s family, friends, and colleagues and ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time,” Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Grafton Police Department, the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
