BLACKSTONE — The Town of Blackstone will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States with a four-day carnival and community celebration from Thursday, July 23, through Sunday, July 26, 2026.
According to Blackstone Town Administrator Lauren Taylor, the celebration will primarily take place on the grounds of Blackstone-Millville Regional High School, located at 175 Lincoln Street, and feature carnival rides, food trucks, live music, local vendors and family-friendly entertainment.
A massive fireworks display will serve as the centerpiece of the celebration at 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 25. A rain date has been scheduled for 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 26.
“After 10 months of planning, the countdown is officially on — and we couldn’t be more excited!” Semiquincentennial Celebration Committee member and Parks and Recreation Commission Chairperson Celeste Langlois said. “Next weekend, Blackstone will come alive with a spectacular four-day celebration on July 23, 24, 25, and 26.”
Blackstone Fire Chief Kevin Roy confirmed that the fireworks will illuminate the sky over Blackstone as the centerpiece of the town’s semiquincentennial festivities.
“But the fun doesn’t stop there,” Langlois said. “Join us for delicious food trucks, live music, local vendors, family-friendly entertainment, and a dazzling fireworks display on Saturday, July 25.”
The celebration’s busiest day will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, with a Semiquincentennial 5K Road Race departing from Blackstone-Millville Regional High School.
The carnival will operate from noon to 11 p.m. that day. Live music will begin at 12:30 p.m. and continue until the fireworks start at 9 p.m.
“Whether you come for the morning run, stay for the carnival, or arrive just in time to get a good spot for the fireworks, Saturday is shaping up to be an incredible day for the community,” celebration organizer Chie Ferrelli said.
The Semiquincentennial Committee encourages fireworks attendees to arrive early with lawn chairs and blankets to secure viewing locations on the school grounds.
“This is the first event of its kind in Blackstone in several decades, making it a truly historic celebration for our community,” Langlois said. “We can’t wait to welcome everyone and see the smiles, excitement, and memories made at this unforgettable event!”
Fiesta Shows will provide rides and amusements throughout the four-day carnival. Unlimited-ride wristbands will be available during the following hours:
