Dracut woman arrested for firing shots from SUV at Lake Mascuppic

DRACUT — On Sunday, July 19, 2026, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Dracut police responded to Willowdale Beach, a public beach at Lake Mascuppic located at 23 Willowdale Avenue, following a report that a woman had extended a gun from a window of her vehicle and fired several shots in the air.

According to the Dracut Police Department, when police arrived on scene, they found a shell casing near Willowdale and Tyngsborough roads. Police spoke with several witnesses who said that a woman — later identified as Jessica Morrow, 36, of Dracut — had been arguing with several people at the beach before she entered a black Honda CR-V, extended a handgun from the driver’s-side window, fired three shots, then drove off.

No injuries were reported.

Since Lake Mascuppic is in both Dracut and Tyngsborough, Tyngsborough police also responded to the scene to assist with the investigation, the Dracut Police Department explained.

Tyngsborough police located Morrow’s vehicle outside a bar on Parham Road in Tyngsborough and took her into custody without further incident.

According to the Dracut Police Department, a Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council K-9 unit later searched the area surrounding the bar and located a loaded 9 mm Glock handgun in nearby bushes.

Jessica Morrow, 36, of Dracut, was arrested and charged with:

  • Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building
  • Carrying a Firearm without a License
  • Disturbing the Peace
  • Unregistered Motor Vehicle

Morrow was held overnight at the Dracut Police Department and was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, July 20, 2026, in Lowell District Court.
