GROTON — On Sunday, June 28, 2026, at approximately 9:34 a.m., Groton Police Sergeant Kevin Henehan observed a black 1991 Honda Civic bearing the Massachusetts vanity plate “DOEBOY” traveling north on Hollis Street.

“I ran a query of the registration on my cruiser’s mobile data terminal (MDT) and the Massachusetts Warrant Management System alerted that there was an active arrest warrant for the registered owner, Mr. Brian Carlos Oliveira,” Sergeant Henehan said.
According to police, Brian Carlos Oliveira, 45, is a resident of Tewksbury, MA.
“I also noted that the vehicle inspection sticker at the end of May, 2024,” Sergeant Henehan added.
The warrant for Oliveira’s arrest was issued by Lowell District Court Judge Mary Phillips on June 16, 2026, for an improper firearm storage charge resulting from an incident in Lowell on February 23, 2026.
“I activated my blue emergency lights and siren and the vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the American Legion Post 55 at 75 Hollis Street,” Sergeant Henehan said. “I radioed dispatch my location and made contact with the operator identified by his Massachusetts license as the registered owner, Mr. Brian Carlos Oliveira. I made him aware of the active arrest warrant.”
Officer Ian Pereira arrived on scene as back up.
Sergeant Henehan placed Oliveira under arrest, secured him in double-locked handcuffs and placed him in the rear of his cruiser. He then transported Oliveira to the Groton Police Department for booking.
“At the station, Mr. Oliveira was booked in the usual manner and afforded all applicable rights,” Sergeant Henehan said. “He was advised of his Miranda warning rights, which were read to him and signed by him indicating that he understood his rights.”
Sergeant Henehan permitted Oliveira’s vehicle to remain in the parking lot and issued him a verbal warning for the inspection sticker violation.
Brian Carlos Oliveira, 45, of Tewksbury, was charged with the following:

Oliveira was released on personal recognizance at around 11:00 a.m. His arraignment was scheduled for June 29, 2026, in Lowell District Court.
