RAYNHAM — On Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Raynham police arrested a Bridgewater man after allegedly finding a loaded 9mm handgun, fentanyl, and crack during a traffic stop on Route 138.
According to the Raynham Police Department, while investigating an unrelated incident at a local hotel, Raynham police received information that Ryan O’Day, 36, of Bridgewater, was in possession of a 9mm handgun.
Officer Daniel Kelly later located a vehicle registered to O’Day at a gas station on Broadway. After conducting surveillance, officers stopped the vehicle on Route 138 because of an allegedly defective license plate light.
During the traffic stop, police learned that neither O’Day nor the woman driving the vehicle had a valid driver’s license. Both were detained while police continued their investigation.
When police removed O’Day from the vehicle, a crack pipe allegedly fell from his lap.
The Raynham Police Department reported that during a subsequent search, police found a loaded 9mm handgun inside a bag in the trunk, along with a holster, drug paraphernalia, suspected fentanyl, and crack cocaine.
Ryan O’Day, 36, of Bridgewater, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Possession of Ammunition
- Possession of a Class A Drug
- Possession of a Class B Drug
O’Day’s arraignment was scheduled for Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, in Taunton District Court.
