Leominster couple arrested after drug raid of their apartment uncovers cocaine, fentanyl and oxycodone

LEOMINSTER โ€” On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, Leominster Police Detective Jonathan Monahan reported that the Leominster District Court granted a search warrant authorizing law enforcement officers to search 28-year-old Sebastian West and his apartment at 19 State Street for fentanyl, cocaine, and other evidence related to drug distribution.

โ€œThe search warrant was based on probable cause developed during the investigation into the sale of fentanyl and cocaine by West,โ€ Detective Monahan said.

Leominster police executed the search warrant the day it was granted with assistance from members of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Federal Drug Task Force, the DEA Special Response Team, the North Worcester County Drug Task Force (NWCDTF), the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Gang Unit, and a Gardner Police Department K-9 officer.

Before the search warrant was executed, Detective Monahan said the participating law enforcement officers were briefed on the investigation that led to the search warrant and on the items the warrant authorized them to search for.

โ€œLaw enforcement officers (LEOs) were also told that the search warrant was a no-knock warrant, in the nighttime, and that we were authorized to search any person present,โ€ Detective Monahan said. โ€œAll officers involved in the execution of the search warrant were wearing raid apparel with โ€˜POLICEโ€™ prominently displayed.โ€

Then, at approximately 4:00 a.m., on July 14, the officers made entry into 19 State Street and approached Apartment D.

โ€œA forced entry was made into the apartment at that time,โ€ Detective Monahan said.

Upon executing the search warrant, officers located Sebastian West in the hallway of the apartment and his girlfriend, Tyesha Wayts, in the living room, which also served as their bedroom.

โ€œI informed all parties that I had a search warrant for them and the residence,โ€ Detective Monahan said. โ€œI held up a copy of the search warrant for them to view and explained it as well.โ€

Detective Monahan said another responding officer then read West and Wayts their Miranda rights from a printed card the officer had on their person.

โ€œWest and Wayts both exercised their right to remain silent, and all questioning ceased at that point,โ€ Detective Monahan said.

During the execution of the search warrant, police located and seized the following:

  • 0.97 grams (gross weight) of a beige, powdery substance believed to be heroin-fentanyl, found on the living room/bedroom table.
  • 0.43 grams (gross weight) of a white, chunky, rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine, found on the living room/bedroom table.
  • 21.96 grams (gross weight) of a white, powdery substance believed to be cocaine, found on the kitchen stove.
  • Fourteen round, blue pills embossed with โ€œK 9โ€ and believed to be oxycodone, found in the toilet.
  • 2 grams (gross weight) of a beige, powdery substance believed to be heroin-fentanyl, found on the kitchen counter.
  • 0.23 grams (gross weight) of a white, chunky substance believed to be crack cocaine, found on the kitchen table.
  • One white, round pill embossed with โ€œ69โ€ and believed to be clonazepam, found on the living room/bedroom table.
  • $886 in U.S. currency, found on the living room/bedroom table.
  • One scale, found on the living room/bedroom table.
  • Two boxes of sandwich bags, found on the living room/bedroom table.

โ€œBased on my training and experience, having this amount of narcotics in one’s possession, along with sandwich bags, a large amount of currency, and scales is consistent with the intent to distribute,โ€ Detective Monahan said. Adding, โ€œUpon completing the search, a copy of the search warrant was left on the living room table for West and Wayts.โ€

Law enforcement officers cleared the scene at approximately 5:45 a.m.

Sebastian William West, 28, of 19 State Street, Apt. D, Leominster, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Cocaine, Trafficking in 18 Grams or More, Less Than 36 Grams
  • Possess to Distribute Class B Drug, Subsequent Offense
  • Possess to Distribute Class A Drug, Subsequent Offense (two counts)
  • Possess Class C Drug

Tyesha Melissa Wayts, 29, of 19 State Street, Apt. D, Leominster, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Cocaine, Trafficking in 18 Grams or More, Less Than 36 Grams
