Officer Johnson proceeded to High Street, where he spotted the man, later identified as 34-year-old Shawn S. Tollis, walking near the Simple Man Saloon.
โAt this time, Officer Gilman arrived on scene with me, and we attempted to make contact with Shawn,โ Officer Johnson said.
After speaking with him briefly, Officer Johnson said he informed Tollis that he had an active warrant out of Marlborough District Court.
โAt this time Shawn was placed in handcuffs, (DL) [double locked] and escorted to the rear of my police cruiser,โ Officer Johnson said. โShawn was then transported to the Clinton Police Department, where he was afforded all applicable rights that one in custody would be afforded which includes Miranda rights and a phone call.โ
Shawn Santino Tollis, 34, was arrested on the following charges via an arrest warrant out of Marlborough District Court:
- Break into Depository
- Larceny from Building (two counts)
- Breaking & Entering Nighttime for Felony
Disclaimer: If you are wondering why the incident in this story took place earlier this month, thatโs because I had to file FOIA request(s) to obtain the court documents. FOIAs are time-consuming.
