โMy assignment for the evening was the West 1 Bicycle Team in full police uniform,โ Sergeant Coliflores said.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., Sergeant Coliforesโ team was posted outside Scorpion Bar to monitor pedestrian traffic.
โI observed four intoxicated male parties standing in the pedestrian walkway refusing to move for the police side-by-side,โ Sergeant Coliflores said. โThe side-by-side was trying to pass through the Patriot Place walkway to monitor traffic.โ
A police side-by-side is an off-road Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) equipped with emergency lights, sirens, and communication gear for law enforcement use.
โI respectfully asked the parties to move out of the road so that the side-by-side could pass,โ Sergeant Coliflores said. โOne of the males (later identified through a Texas driver’s license as Roberto Reyes) was extremely belligerent and loud towards me. Reyes refused to move out of the walkway and continued to block pedestrians from passing freely. Reyes was unsteady on his feet and slurred his speech when he spoke to me.โ
According to police, Roberto J. Reyes, 34, is a resident of San Juan, Texas.
โI explained to Reyes that it was time to go home and to please move along,โ Sergeant Coliflores said. โReyes refused, bladed his stance, and took a fighting position (both hands were up).โ
Sergeant Coliflores said he grabbed Reyesโ right wrist and attempted to place him in protective custody.
โReyes actively pulled away and did not allow me to handcuff him,โ Sergeant Coliflores said. โAt this time, multiple officers attempted to gain control of Reyes to place him in custody.โ
Sergeant Coliflores added that Reyes did not listen to his commands and actively resisted arrest.
โI shouted at Reyes to stop fighting and to stop resisting. After several attempts to place Reyes under arrest, I attempted to take him to the ground by sweeping his right leg out,โ Sergeant Coliflores said. โReyes continued to blade his stance and refused arrest. A short time later, I was able to gain control of Reyesโ wrist and place him in handcuffs (double locked). Reyes continued to actively resist as we escorted him to the Foxborough police wagon.โ
Sergeant Coliflores said it took several officers to get Reyes under control before they were able to place him in the back of the Foxborough police wagon. Two officers then had to stay with Reyes in the back of the police wagon to keep Reyes under control.
Roberto J. Reyes, 34, of San Juan, Texas, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Disorderly Conduct: โRoberto Reyes was a public inconvenience in the Patriot Place plaza,โ Sergeant Coliflores explained. โRoberto Reyes exhibited tumultuous behavior and resisted arrest.โ
- Resist Arrest: โRoberto Reyes prevented me from placing him in handcuffs,โ Sergeant Coliflores said. โReyes used physical force by actively pulling away his arm to resist arrest. Throughout the arrest process, Reyes was combative and resisted arrest.โ
โIt should also be noted that during the arrest of Reyes, an unknown party stole my Ray-Ban sunglasses,โ Sergeant Coliflores added. โThe sunglasses are valued at $200 dollars. Officer Tara Lagoa’s sunglasses were also taken from the scene.โ
Reyes was arraigned in Wrentham District Court on July 10, 2026. During his arraignment, Judge Thomas Finigan placed Reyes on pretrial probation on both charges until Aug. 10, 2026, and ordered him to write a letter of apology to Sergeant Coliflores.
Both charges were then dismissed upon completion of the pretrial probation period on Aug. 10, 2026.
