SALEM — On the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, Salem police responding to a wellbeing check on Cabot Street found a 42-year-old woman dead.
According to Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker and Salem Police Chief Lucas Miller, authorities applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for a 50-year-old Salem man in connection with the woman’s death.
The man was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 9, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
He is expected to be arraigned in New Hampshire on a fugitive from justice charge before being arraigned in Salem District Court on the murder charge.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, Tucker and Miller said.
