TOWNSEND — North Middlesex Regional High School senior Abigail Ouellette has been named a commended student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.
North Middlesex Regional High School Principal Laurie Smith announced that Ouellette is among approximately 34,000 students nationwide recognized for her academic achievements. Ouellette was selected from a pool of over 1.2 million students who entered the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2025 Preliminary SAT, the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, commended students are among the top 50,000 high scorers who entered the 2027 competition and the “commended student” recognition reflects both outstanding academic achievement and the potential for continued academic success.
Principal Smith presented Ouellette with a letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and North Middlesex Regional High School.
“We are incredibly proud of Abigail and this well-earned recognition of her academic accomplishments,” Principal Smith said. “Being named a commended student is a significant achievement, and we are pleased to celebrate Abigail’s hard work, dedication, and potential.”
North Middlesex Regional School District Superintendent Brad Morgan said Ouellette’s recognition reflects the district’s commitment to supporting students as they grow, pursue their goals, and achieve excellence.
“Her success is a testament to the opportunities and support provided by the North Middlesex Regional School District, and we look forward to seeing what she accomplishes in the future,” Superintendent Morgan said.
